Baku. Trend:

The election process was observed by our mission in 16 districts of Azerbaijan, including Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Shusha, and Khankendi. We monitored the process at several polling stations. The polling stations opened on time, and the elections were held transparently and in favorable conditions.

According to Trend, these remarks were made by the head of the CIS Observer Mission, First Deputy Secretary General of the CIS, Leonid Anfimov, during a press conference on September 2 regarding the results of the early parliamentary elections.

The head of the mission also noted that although some independent international observers stated that violations occurred in certain polling stations, these were very few in number. Such incidents were promptly prevented, and those responsible were held accountable.

He further added that ramps were installed in 2,471 polling stations for people with disabilities, and templates were prepared for visually impaired voters. Observers were also given the opportunity to participate in the preparation for vote counting and in the process of counting protocols. According to the mission, the election process was conducted in a calm environment and no significant violations were observed.
